Hummus Best Recipe

Hummus is a staple in my fridge, and I make it regularly because I love customizing it to my taste. If you've ever thought making hummus was difficult, let me show you just how easy and rewarding it can be.

In this video, we'll start by freshly grinding cumin, adding a burst of aroma and flavor to our hummus. I'll share my tip for roasting spices, which takes your hummus to a whole new level compared to store-bought options.

Using 450g of tender, perfectly cooked chickpeas and ensuring thorough drainage, we create a creamy texture that will redefine your hummus standards. No more disappointing watery outcomes!

Hummus Recipe with Tahini & Garlic:

Ingredients:

450g of cooked chickpeas

2 cloves of garlic

Freshly ground cumin

Tahini (store-bought or homemade)

50mL of olive oil

Splash of lemon juice

Pinch of sea salt

Pinch of ground black pepper

100mL of water (adjust according to desired consistency)

Instructions:

Start by roasting the spices. In a dry pan over medium heat, toast the cumin until fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside.

Drain the cooked chickpeas thoroughly to ensure a creamy texture in the hummus.

In a food processor, combine the drained chickpeas, roasted cumin, and two cloves of garlic. Process until the ingredients are well blended and smooth.

Add tahini to the mixture. You can use store-bought tahini or make your own by grinding toasted sesame seeds into a paste.

Drizzle in 50mL of olive oil and add a splash of lemon juice. Sprinkle in a pinch of sea salt and ground black pepper.

Blend the mixture for about two minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together and reach the perfect hummus consistency.

Gradually add 100mL of water while blending, adjusting the amount to achieve your preferred thickness.

Once blended to your desired consistency, taste the hummus and adjust the seasoning if needed.

Serve the homemade hummus in a bowl, drizzled with a little olive oil and garnished with a sprinkle of cumin.
